Hatfield Training Centre is an official ICDL Training and Testing centre. The ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) is an internationally recognised and accepted qualification that enables people to verify their competence in core computer skills and IT knowledge. More than 4,000,000 people around the world have already participated, including more than 100,000 in South Africa and Africa. As implied in the name ICDL is an internationally recognised, industry standard qualification that proves computer literacy.
ICDL functions as proof of computer literacy and many universities and technikons, including the University of South Africa (UNISA) require students to hold an ICDL before they can progress to some subjects or obtain some degrees in Science and Commerce.
As part of Year of Your Life each student has access to computer literacy training and is able to complete their ICDL certification.
