Hatfield Training Centre is offering new courses as part of Year of Life 2007.

For the first time, in addition to the standard curriculum, students are now afforded the opportunity to attend two specialised tracks. Limited numbers of students will be considered for specialised tracks in Audio Visual Studies and Music and Worship Studies.

Standard Dicsipleship Track

The Year of Your Life curriculum covers a wide range of experiences. From relationship with God to how to change a motor car tyre. Students are afforded the opportunity to engage both their heads and their hearts allowing God to work in their lives leaving them changed forever.

Audio Visual Studies Track

The aim of this track is to prepare young men and women with a passion for sound and media to re-invest in their home congregations after Year of Your Life, and to showcase the industry for those who are considering a career in this field, to develop a Kingdom perspective before embarking on formal studies.

After the first term, Year of Your Life - AV will integrate with the Impact Media and Communications (IMC) Department at Hatfield Christian Church for the remainder of the year. You will be allocated to work with a full time AV Technician for practical experience as well as receive formal class room instruction on a variety of topics to build a solid theoretical basis.

This track requires that you have passed Mathematics and Science in Grade 12 and are computer literate, or if you are currently in Grade 12, that your subjects include Mathematics and Science. Trainers have up to 20 years of full-time experience in the industry.

Music & Worship Track

The aim of this track is to raise the standard of worship in churches by preparing young men and women to re-invest in their home congregations after Year of Your Life.

After the first term, Year of Your Life – Music & Worship will integrate with the Worship department at Hatfield Christian Church for the remainder of the year. You will receive teachings and individual skill development. Teachers have up to 20 years experience and masters degree level in the musical industry. They also have up to 7 years experience leading worship and working with worship teams.

Entry Requirements

  • Listening abilities: How do we hear and listen, how to analyze music to enhance your band sound!

  • Musical styles and interpretation 50’s,60’s,70’s,80’s,90’s and the new millennium music: What is the DNA of every style and how can we use it in our worship?

  • Levitical calling and excellence: The triad: perspiration, inspiration and anointing, spirit of excellence versus the spirit of perfection.

  • Team dynamics: How to deal with the weakest link; love languages and personalities.

    The rehearsal : Preparation, sound check, communication on stage.

  • The music director/worship leader dynamic: Where are the boundaries, who is responsible for what and to whom and when?

  • The prophetic release: What to do when the Holy Spirit wrecks the song? The window of transparency.

  • Creative worship: Creative elements in worship dynamics.

Band experience of at least two years.

An audition will be held to test your skills, knowledge and listening abilities.
